Amundi has introduced a tokenised share class for its Core STOXX Europe 600 index fund, the sub-fund behind a European equity ETF with €22.8 billion in assets under management, issuing the tokens on public Ethereum with CACEIS serving as transfer and tokenisation agent Ledger Insights. This is the first large-scale European equity index fund to add a blockchain-based share class.
The tokenised class extends Amundi’s tokenisation programme beyond cash. In November 2025 the asset manager added a tokenised share class to its Amundi Funds Cash EUR money-market fund, then built tokenised MMF share classes with CACEIS and Ant International for intra-group treasury liquidity on-chain.
In March, Amundi became delegated investment manager of the Spiko Amundi Overnight Swap Fund (SAFO), a total-return swap product within Spiko’s French SICAV that has attracted roughly $2.5 billion and is the largest offering on Spiko’s tokenised fund platform.
Our read: Amundi’s tokenised equity share class moves the firm from cash-only pilots to a core portfolio product, indicating that large asset managers consider blockchain a viable settlement layer for high-volume equity instruments.
