Stripe said it will expand its stablecoin card programs to more than 100 countries by year-end, a move that directly affects corporate clients such as crypto exchange Kraken, fintech Ramp and payments app Morse CoinDesk.
Paymentscan data show stablecoin card spending reached about $1.2 billion last month, tripling the amount recorded a year earlier.
Stripe has issued more than 400 million cards and processed hundreds of billions of dollars in volume since 2018.
The expansion builds on Stripe’s 2024 $1.1 billion acquisition of Bridge and its 2025 purchase of Privy, whose CEO Henri Stern now oversees stablecoins and crypto across Stripe.
Stern said the offering is “stablecoin-agnostic, blockchain-agnostic” and will be integrated with Stripe’s existing card infrastructure.
Our read: The broad rollout gives multinational firms a shortcut to accept digital dollars without rebuilding banking relationships in each market, potentially reshaping go-to-market strategies for companies that rely on cross-border payments.
