# UiPath urges Gulf firms to focus on measurable AI outcomes

> UiPath’s Middle East VP stresses that Gulf enterprises must define clear business goals, governance and upskilling to turn AI pilots into ROI.

## Key Takeaways (TL;DR)

- Gulf firms are shifting from AI pilots to projects tied to defined business outcomes, according to UiPath.
- UiPath highlights orchestration, human accountability and workforce upskilling as critical for scaling agentic automation.
- Clear ROI metrics and governance are now prerequisites before expanding AI deployments in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

During UiPath FUSION Dubai, Vice President Karl Crowther told [TahawulTech](https://www.tahawultech.com/news/uipath-urges-gulf-enterprises-to-prioritise-measurable-ai-outcomes/) that Gulf enterprises are moving beyond experimentation toward measurable business value, governance and the skills needed to scale AI adoption. He noted the UAE is further along the maturity curve, while Saudi Arabia is accelerating under Vision 2030, focusing on platform deployment to enable scale.

Crowther said many pilots were run “for the sake of running pilots,” often without solid data, processes or clear ROI definitions, leading to limited outcomes. He observed a shift in banking, government and aviation toward asking what success looks like, identifying high-value processes and attaching measurable indicators before expanding.

The UiPath platform, he explained, orchestrates agents, robots and humans within governed workflows, allowing people to retain accountability while agents handle high-value tasks. Cost, revenue growth, productivity or staff-time reduction are all valid outcome metrics, but each sector must define its own success criteria first.

Workforce enablement is essential, Crowther added.

Our read: UiPath’s message underscores that Gulf firms cannot rely on hype-driven pilots; they need disciplined project scoping, clear KPI frameworks and a governance layer that keeps humans in the loop. The emphasis on upskilling suggests that talent development will be a decisive factor in converting AI investments into tangible business impact.
